Skin care does not always mean spending money on products and treatments. In fact, our kitchen already has many ingredients that can help us take care of our skin. The first step in skin care is to know that each type of skin has its own needs. There are people who have oily skin, dry skin, combination skin, sensitive skin, and normal skin. When we use homemade products based on our skin type, they work gently on our skin without any harm.

Normal skin is well-balanced and does not encounter serious problems such as oily or very dry skin. Those with normal skin can easily preserve their skin by following some homemade skin care tips. Washing the face with clean water or preparing a face wash by mixing besan (gram flour) and milk twice a day will keep the face. Applying a few drops of aloe vera gel as a moisturizer will keep the face soft and supple. Applying a face pack of honey and curd once or twice a week will keep the skin healthy and smooth.

Dry skin needs special care as it is usually tight and rough. For dry skin, harsh soaps and strong face washes must be avoided. A homemade face wash made from milk or raw cream is very effective for cleaning the face without stripping it of its natural oils. Natural face moisturizers consisting of aloe vera gel with a few drops of coconut oil or almond oil are very effective in retaining the moisture. A face pack of mashed banana and honey applied once a week gives dry skin a soft and glowing look.

Oily skin tends to have excess oil, which may cause pimples and clogged pores if not taken care of properly. The key to oily skin is taking care of it by not over-drying it. A face wash consisting of multani mitti (fuller’s earth) and rose water will help to reduce excess oil and clean the pores. Aloe vera gel is a great light moisturizer for oily skin, as it moisturizes without making the skin greasy. Applying a face pack of multani mitti and a few drops of lemon juice will help to control oil and prevent pimples.

Combination skin has both dry and oily patches, mostly oily on the nose and forehead, and dry on the cheeks. Combination skin requires balanced treatment. A light face wash of besan with rose water is ideal for combination skin. Aloe vera gel can be applied to the entire face, and a few drops of oil can be added to the dry patches, if needed. Applying a face pack of curd with a pinch of multani mitti helps in balancing the skin by moisturizing the dry patches and reducing the oil on the oily patches.

Sensitive skin is easily irritated by products and changes in the environment, so it requires very gentle care. For sensitive skin, it is always advisable to keep the number of ingredients low. Washing your face with water or milk is very helpful for sensitive skin. Aloe vera gel is the safest moisturizer for sensitive skin because it reduces redness and irritates the skin. A face mask made of oatmeal powder and rose water is very helpful for sensitive skin.

Acne-prone skin the care routine should include cleaning and soothing the skin without scrubbing. A soft skin cleanser can be made by mixing besan and neem powder. Aloe vera gel can be used as a natural healing moisturizer. A face pack prepared using multani mitti and neem water can help control pimples and prevent them from occurring in the future. Touching the face frequently and using heavy oils should be avoided.

Besides the skin type care, Some basic habits are also essential. Drinking plenty of water helps to keep the skin moisturized from inside. Eating fruits, vegetables, and homemade food is necessary for supplying the necessary nutrients to the skin. Washing the face before sleeping helps in removing the dirt and pollution that has accumulated in the skin throughout the day. Getting enough sleep and avoiding stress also helps in keeping the skin clean and glowing.
